Titanes can't stop Montañeses


Montañeses de Utuado took the lead in the eighth inning, and Titanes de Florida was unable to muster a comeback, losing 10-7 on Sunday at Rafael Marrero.

Ronaldo Camacho racked up four RBIs on three hits for Titanes de Florida. He homered in the third inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.
Montañeses de Utuado's
 Luis Cortés, Omar Figueroa and Hasani Torres combined for seven hits and five RBIs.
The top of the first saw Montañeses de Utuado take an early lead, 1-0.

Titanes de Florida pushed across three runs in both the third inning and the sixth. In the third, Titanes de Florida scored on a three-run home run by Camacho, scoring David Encarnacion and Cristóbal Rodríguez.
Montañeses de Utuado matched its one-run fourth inning with one more in the ninth. In the fourth, Montañeses de Utuado scored on an RBI single by Carlos Correa, scoring Torres.
The game was never in doubt after the eighth, as Montañeses de Utuado scored four runs on an error, a passed ball, and an RBI single by Cortés.
A one-run ninth inning helped bring Titanes de Florida within two. A solo home run by Carlos Dávila set off Titanes de Florida rally. Montañeses de Utuado's Malcom Díaz induced a Camacho ground out to close things out.

Titanes best Industriales in shootout


Pitchers had a tough day during the game between Titanes de Florida and Industriales de Barceloneta, as the two teams put up 23 runs combined in a 14-9 Titanes de Florida win.

The teams totaled 29 hits, including four extra base hits in the game.
Cristóbal Rodríguez racked up five RBIs on four hits for Titanes de Florida. He tripled in the fifth inning and singled in the first, fourth, and seventh innings.
Joel Colón recorded the win for Titanes de Florida. He allowed three runs over five innings. Colón struck out two, walked two and gave up four hits.
Kelvin Lopez couldn't get it done on the mound for Industriales de Barceloneta, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
The game's last lead went to Titanes de Florida thanks to a second inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on an RBI single by Agustín Escobar.
Titanes de Florida posted one run in each of the third, seventh and eighth. In the third, Titanes de Florida scored on an RBI single by Escobar, bringing home Carlos Nieves.

Two runs in the bottom of the fourth helped Industriales de Barceloneta close its deficit to 8-3. An RBI single by Gamalier Quiles and a fielder's choice gave Industriales de Barceloneta life. Finally, Colón got José Ponce to to end the threat.
Titanes de Florida added four more runs in the top of the fifth. A double by Carlos Dávila ignited the offense,, scoring Manfredo Vega and Gabriel Ayala. That was followed up by Rodríguez's triple, plating Carlos Dávila and Carlos Rosario.
Two runs in the bottom of the sixth helped Industriales de Barceloneta close its deficit to 12-5. An RBI single by Idlamirg Gonzalez sparked Industriales de Barceloneta's rally. Titanes de Florida stopped the rally after Axel Rodriguezgot Ponce to.
A four-run seventh inning helped bring Industriales de Barceloneta within four. An RBI double by Kelvin Correa, an RBI single by Heriberto Santana, and a two-run single by Gonzalez triggered Industriales de Barceloneta's comeback. But, Jonathan Rosario got Ponce to ground out to end the inning.
