"Lakers Split With Dakota County: Camacho Hits Two HR's in Double Header
The Iowa Lakes baseball team finally had a few things fall its way in the second game of a doubleheader wit the Dakota County Technical College. In game one, both the visitors and the Lakers each had nine hits and two errors, but Dakota County scored nine runs in the fifth inning and prevailed 10-7. Iowa Lakes started slowly in the second game, falling behind 3-0 after 1 1/2 inning when Laker bats woke up. Iowa Lakes pounded seven hits and took advantage of Dakota County error to score nine runs- seven of them crossed the plate with two outs.
Lakers defense stiffened, giving up just two runs the rest of the game on the way to an 11-5 victory. Ronaldo Camacho and Andrus Kuilan each had a three-run home run in the big inning which also included a sacrifice fly from Estherville native Nick Loftis. Camacho was 2-2 with two walks and 3 RBI's. Kuilan was 3-3 with three runs, thee RBI's and two stolen bases. Luis Cabreras earned the win on the mound, giving up six hits, but only one after the seccond inning. In the first game, Edgardo Ramirez took the loss on the mound. Camacho was 2-4 with a three-run home run.. "
